Mixtape Fridays: Chavis Chandler x Breath Of Fresh Air II

The first time I ever met @Chavis Chandler I didnt even know who he was to be honest. I thought my boy was just takin to a party and we was gon just blow and chill. I was with @Pushagrey87 at the parking lot on Woodward and Forrest at Detroit Artist Market When I met Chavis. Chav got into the car, started smoking the "Duke Kushington" with us, That I rolled, and was talking about "These niggas out here only fuckin wit local niggas and if you keep fucking with local niggas you only local fame. Hahaha, Ima got to London homie I swear a nigga will be so much more appreciated and ima blow up out there." I was like hey thats a good idea you should do it it will help your career if your looking for a bigger fan base. He said "Good look man". Chav is pretty smart when it comes to his career he's been featured in videos with Mishka and now affliated with Danny Brown's Bruiser Brigade. Chavis has talent yall I must say that my favorite songs on here are 'BOFAII', 'OFTLOA', 'Style', 'Hands And K's'. When I listen to artist I go from first song to the last and this mixtape is the key example of what your work should come out to be. The man records himself people! It doesn't get to much personal than that and on the track 'Gold Chain Gang' w/ Zelooperz he says "I'm recording myself so i wanted you mothafuckers to hear me step in the booth." #Swagg. He really tells you his struggle and how he went from eastside residence to that little taste of fame that like a drug and that you have to have more of. Success is contagious and you can tell that he wants it. I must say this mixtape is on heavy rotation in my playlist. We have to do a #CoolKids interview with this dude immediately.

Fashion in Detroit 2012

Project Runway alum, Joe Faris and business woman Denise Illitch present this year's Fashion in Detroit 2012.

MotorCity Casino will be the host of this event on March 10, 2012 starting at 12 noon. In 2009, Joe Faris (co-founder of FID) decided to launch this event annually to showcase the many talents and fashion designers of the Detroit area for the world to see and experience. The event will include local and national designers, meet and greets, a “Market Detroit” pop-up shop, a Detroit sports lounge, a VIP private reception and an Afterglow bash. There will also be a social media lounge hosted by StyleCaster.com for the online media and bloggers.

The show will feature designers such as Angela McBride creator of Peace Love Spandex, Barbara May creator of BMay Handbags, Cyntia LaMaide, jewelry artist Dina La Montagne, Fotoula Lambros, handbag designers Jenna Kator and Julie Lindsay, avant-garde designer Kelly Lynne and jewelry designer Marlaina Stone.

Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com. The Fashion Elite tickets are on sale for 100.00 with premier runway seating and afterglow access. The Fashionista tickets are on sale for 25.00 including seating for all runway shows, gift bags, and a souvenir guidebook. There is also eligibility for high-end giveaways. The show will also give one talented Michigan-based fashion designer a grant to showcase their Fall/Winter 2012 collection to industry major players and fashion buyers.
