Cool Kids: @TBPDash St. Louis, Missouri

So this is the part about blogging I enjoy to the up most degree. This artist I met on Twitter, you meet a shit ton of people by the way, blew me away with his story, music, and just all round humility. This is what I'm talkin about people a man that has started from very humble beginnings and that has a multitude of potential to become one the greats in hip hop today.  When we linked up dude hit me with a bio of himself and it showed his motivation, drive and creativity behind how he would fall asleep listening to music and then if the beat went off he would wake up. Sounds like a artist in the making to me. Then his boy Reiko helped motivate, push him into writing his lyrics out. Sounds like some Jay-Z and Jaz-O shit minus the beef haha, but seriously dude would go out and do some Jackson 5 stuff man goin out with his boys to talent shows and doing what he do best and thats perform and win. He has 3 mixtapes under his belt and his upcoming album for 2012 dubbed "Time For Fame". Also him and his mother own a LLC record label called "Truly Blessed". In his own words "I want to be able to bless other artists along on my journey. My company is called Truly Blessed Productions because I am truly blessed that the Lord has given me a chance to make my dream happen with the vision and talent to create music that will touch the hearts and minds of all people through the nation.". #Inspiration. After all of this when asked to do this interview he says "Whats good my guy".

Mad S/O to the whole SKS fam too

Dash: New School Hip-Hop

Alius: What does it sound like?
Dash: Just A Mixture Of Old & New School Hip Hop Mixed In With Reality

Alius: What does your music mean?
Dash: My Music Is Just My Life Experience Turned Into Music From Every Aspect. From Life Achievements To Struggling Just Expressing My Thoughts Emotions & Life Through Music

Alius: What other ventures are you working on?
Dash: At This Time I Do Not Have My Hands In Any Other Ventures Just Focused on My Music

Alius: What are your goals in life?
Dash: 1. To Finish College & Make A Career Outside Of Music 2. Solidfy My Name & Label in Hip-hop by grinding, making good music, & making Smart Career Moves 3. To make the impossible possible in my life

Alius: What does St.Louis mean or stand for in your eyes?
Dash: St.Louis Stands For Hustle In My Eyes Because Anyone Successful & Famous From St.Louis All Had Ambition & A Grind To Get to where They Wanted To Be.All the People From Acting To Fashion To Music To Sports To Wrestling All Of These People Used The Grind To Get There. Once They success from there hustle They Continued To Hustle Through Different Ventures. Which Shows Your Hustle Can Take You Places As Long As U Perfected The Hustle & Grind To Get There.

Alius: What is the rap game missing the most right now?
Dash: This question is a very debated question especially to artist but my opinion is what the rap game is missing: Real Artist, Lyrical Content, & Networking. I say all three are missing because hip-hop started with real artist people who wasnt just about the fame or money or anything just grinding & doing music because of their love for hip-hop. That seems to be missing a lot in the industry nowadays artist doing it just to get money & fame now not alot of artist doing it for the love they have for hip-hop anymore. Which goes into the networking aspect because artist alot of tiimes wont reach out to each other unless there label or they had a mutal friend involved with the collaboration. which is causing alot of repeated collaborations to happen over & over instead of artist collaborating & bringing fresh material to the world. also plays apart to what i was reffering to earlier as far as money goes alot of artist wont work with one another unless major money involved or there name has a buzz.which leaves new artist to have to get there money or buzz up to gain major collaboration which it shouldnt be that way at all. As Far As Lyrical Content I feel that is missing cuz ppl have the same subject matter over & over alot wont step out there lane which makes hip-hop seem one dimensional which should not be the case. I Feel it should be less gimmicks & more real heartfelt material in songs you listen to that are mainstream because without that it is making hip-hop just more commercial. thats why when someone comes into hip-hop speaking the truth or with heartfelt material they are not accepted or as high up as rappers who have gimmicks or speaking about the streets. Hip-hop needs to go back to the basics Hip-Hop wasnt started for money it was based off good music & opening the door for the next generation to do better that what is needed to be done again.

Alius: Church man a lot of people dont really say this out in the pen and I salute you for doing so.

Alius: Where do you plan on being in the next 5 years?
Dash: I Plan To Have Successful career & Label in the industry Wether its Mainstream or Independent & to also have My Career outside of rap so i can have something to fallback on when Mymusic days are over. To make sure im straight in every way for the future & whereve i may end up.
