The perks of being a Nike school have been well documented up to this point, from exclusive PE sneakers to the finest in constantly re-designed uniforms. In the realm of college basketball Nike is paying special attention to a subset of their sponsored schools, outfitting the teams who have won national championships rocking Nike gear with the brand new Nike Hyper Elite Platinum Uniforms. The benefits of the updated unis are two-fold, on one hand they’ve been crafted with notched up performance in mind (lightweight fabrics, laser-etched perforations for breathability) and on the other they maintain a minimal impact on the environment (96% recycled materials on the jerseys and 100%) on the shorts. The Nike Hyper Elite Platinum Uniform will first hit NCAA courts in the UConn/Notre Dame match up on Sunday the 29th, so keep your eyes peeled for the new gear in that game as well as others going forward.
